Service Overview

Drone Data for
DPR Preparation

A Detailed Project Report is only as good as its survey data. Traditional DPR surveys using ground teams are slow and often incomplete — missing terrain detail, underrepresenting structures, and delivering data too coarse for accurate cost estimation. Our drone surveys deliver the high-resolution, georeferenced spatial data that modern DPR preparation demands.

Drone-based DPR surveys deliver 5–10x more spatial data per survey rupee than traditional methods — resulting in better alignment decisions, more accurate cost estimates, and faster approval timelines.

  • Complete topographic base map for project corridor
  • High-resolution orthomosaic for desktop study
  • Longitudinal and cross-section profiles at required intervals
  • Land use / structure enumeration for acquisition cost estimate
  • DEM for drainage design and hydrology studies
  • Compatible with DPR formats of MoRTH, NHAI, IR, CWC, MoP

How It Works

DPR Survey Process

End-to-end drone survey support for DPR — from corridor definition to final data package ready for DPR report integration.
01
DPR Scope & Data Requirements

We review the DPR TOR, data requirements from the client/authority, corridor extent, and deliverable specifications to design the survey package.

02
Airspace & Authority Permissions

DGCA airspace clearances and any required authority NOCs are obtained. For sensitive corridors (forest, military zones), additional permissions are coordinated.

03
GCP Network Establishment

A permanent GCP network is established using DGPS/Total Station and tied to SOI datum — ensuring all drone data is georeferenced to national standards.

04
Multi-Mission Drone Survey

Systematic corridor flights for topographic mapping, structure photography, and any supplementary missions (multispectral, LiDAR) as defined in the survey scope.

05
Data Processing & GIS Layer Preparation

Orthomosaic, DEM, cross-sections, and GIS vector layers are prepared. Structure enumeration and land use classification are performed on the processed imagery.

06
DPR Data Package Delivery

All survey data, maps, cross-section drawings, and GIS layers are compiled into a structured DPR data package with a survey report for seamless integration into the DPR document.

Frequently Asked

DPR Survey FAQs

Is drone survey data accepted for government DPRs?
Yes. DGCA-compliant drone surveys with DGPS ground control are accepted by NHAI, MoRTH, Indian Railways, CWC, and state PWDs for DPR preparation. We provide full accuracy documentation for submission with the DPR.
Can you prepare the DPR drawings directly?
We supply the survey data, orthomosaic, DEM, cross-sections, and GIS layers in formats compatible with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and GIS software. DPR consultants can directly use this data for drawing preparation without re-survey.
How long does a DPR corridor survey take?
Depending on corridor length and terrain, a 50 km road DPR survey typically takes 3–5 days of fieldwork including GCP setup, flights, and QC. Data processing and package preparation requires an additional 3–5 working days.
Can you enumerate structures for land acquisition?
Yes. We systematically count and classify all structures within the project boundary — residential, commercial, religious, and utility structures — with coordinates, photographs, and GIS database for land acquisition and R&R planning.
Do you survey in forest and restricted areas?
Yes. We obtain all required forest department, ministry, and DGCA permissions for surveys in forest areas, wildlife sanctuaries, and other restricted zones. Our team has experience with complex multi-agency permission processes for DPR surveys.
